"I avoided bariatric surgery and diabetes is gone from my life!"

I have been a client of Aaron Guttman since November 2015.  Thanks to him, I was able to avoid Bariatric Surgery and my diabetes is gone.   In October 2015, I decided to go forward with Bariatric Surgery – since all prior attempts at weight loss had failed.   Part of that decision was to change my lifestyle, so I thought why not get fit before the surgery.   I decided to find a way to make exercise and nutrition a new way of life.   As luck would have it, one of my coworkers, who had been working with a trainer and had achieved impressive results, led me straight to Aaron, and I’ve never looked back. In the end I became healthy and fit, no longer diabetic, and I avoided surgery.

From the moment I met Aaron, I knew he was a person that could help me achieve new goals and also the one that would help change my life for the better. During the last 3 months, I have been challenged and pushed by Aaron, and he has taught me a great deal. He makes working out fun and inspires me to reach new goals.  I have been very impressed by his passion to help clients, his knowledge in not only exercise – but nutrition also, and his ability to connect with his clients. As a result I decided to cancel my Bariatric surgery and am so thankful that I did!

Aaron is very caring and attentive to what each client needs, what their limits are, and how far he can push them. He encourages and motivates me to do better, and yet he knows how much I am capable of. He deserves the best compliments, I plan to be a long-term client, and more importantly, continue to work with Aaron even after he helps me reach my goals.   Since I started I have lost over 50 pounds and 26 inches overall.  I’m down three clothing sizes and the weight and size I am now I haven’t seen since before 2000. Best of all, Diabetes is no longer in my life!   So happy to continue this adventure with Aaron’s guidance.

I’ve been working out under Aaron Guttman’s guidance for over six months, for one hour twice a week. We’ve had to revise workouts a couple of times due to chronic problems I have with a knee and shoulder, and he’s always found good alternative exercises for me which allow me to get a good full body workout. We’ve also spoken a lot about diet. Mine was not too bad to start with, but he’s definitely encouraged me to develop some very helpful changes.

I’ve lost fat and built muscle, and the results have been noticeable to me, and also to my family and my colleagues at work. I feel better, stronger, and more energetic day to day. I work long hours, on my feet much of the day, and am feeling less and less tired at the end of my workdays (even the ones which start with an hour workout at 5am).

I’m a physician, specializing in cardiac electrophysiology. Along with my colleagues in cardiology, I know too well the health problems which can come from being overweight. I often find myself counseling patients on the importance of regular exercise, and pleading with them to even walk 20 minutes a few times a week. Compared to this, I’m so impressed and proud of the gains I’ve made over a relatively short time. And I’ve heard so many positive stories about the progress made by Aaron’s other clients as well. He and I have spoken a lot about how to keep these changes going over time, and I look forward to doing just that.

  • 1/28 5:26pm One of my partners saw me today and asked how much I weigh.  Told him I stopped eating bad food period.  He knew me when I ate burgers/fast food, fries, tortilla chips and soda out the all the time.  Thinking back, I never ate good food.  I meant that too. Never.  When my brother sees me next he will definitely want to do it.  Not starving.  Plenty of food.  Eating all the time it seems.

  • 1/30 10:30am I feel so #$@!  good.  I cant even imagine ever going off this food.

  • 2/11 10:47am Holy cow … got on the scale today 214lbs.  I put on some shorts this morning and couldn’t even make them stay on me.  I had to get on the scale.  That’s 15.2 lbs down in a month.  Just eating properly and exercising.  This is incredible.  I was beat last night after my run/walk with the dog too.  Knees hurt a little while doing the run but I can walk just fine today.  No lingering pain like I would have had in the past.  Muscles aren’t sore at all either.  I thought they would be killing me after increasing the exercise load.  The best thing about this is I like the food.  I have eaten at Moe’s and Chick fil a.  Its doable no problem.  The worm has definitely turned for me.  Born again hard.

  • 2/11 11:50am You’re spot on. I definitely have the metabolic rate jacked up.  And I know when I step the exercise up in a month or so I will need to eat even more.  Its awesome.  The science had definitely been proven on me.

  • 2/13 5:47pm  … my back hasn’t hurt in months…

  • 2/17 8:37pm I’m saving a fortune in eating out… for sure so its not costing me more, I actually think I’m saving money doing this.

  • 2/17 8:43pm (my wife) says it costs $200/week approx..  I used to spend $60 on a Friday night dinner alone not counting the pizza twice a week for $30/week alone.  I’m happy I made the change.

  • 2/21 8:12pm Yesterday I had a deposition that I gave, the lawyer that was with me for probably 30 or 40 depositions said yesterday was the best one ever.  He said whatever my diet change my lifestyle change that definitely I’m on my game.  Sharper mind and body.

  • 2/21 8:18 I am definitely born again hard.

  • 3/02  1:32pm I’m down to 209 and still doing great there.

  • 3/02 1:41pm Ran 3 nights in a row… I’m definitely feeling lighter.  Feel really good.  I have no problem getting to sleep or waking up anymore.

  • 3/09 4:38pm Tomorrow is my birthday.  I don’t even feel like I’m trying to lose weight.  Just eating all the right foods in the right combinations at the right time.  I’m now down to 208lbs.  That’s 31lbs in less than 3 months.  Wife bought me a pair of 34 shorts.  I thought no way I’d fit in them.  I was wrong.  Holy cow man.  This stuff works man.  I’m never going back to the way I was.  Never.  I was wearing 38-40 shorts and 38 Levi’s.  Now my old 36 jeans are big.  Lol  Best thing I ever did was listen to you.  I really appreciate you getting me started and keeping me motivated.  Best money anyone can spend.  I cant believe I waited this long to make the change.  Thanks.

I would highly recommend Aaron Guttman as a personal trainer.  I am just finishing up the ‘Stabilization phase’ and I have learned a great deal about my personal fitness.   In the past I often had lower back pain, and at times I would have trouble with my left knee and hip.   On my own, the only way I knew how to deal with all of this was to rest from working out, visit my chiropracter, and take Advil nearly every day.  And now this has not been the case for the past few months.   Aaron has taught me what exercises can help build more strength for these areas,  and he has tailored my workouts in a way that has made a step change in the strength of my back and core muscles to keep me from the constant setbacks and pain I had become accustomed to.    I am not good with pain, so knowing now that I have a way to avoid it in a healthy way, I am impressed and thrilled!   The combination of learning exercises I can do on my own, as well as the workouts he tailors for me twice a week feels  like a great balance for my fitness, and seems like the solution that is making a step change in my overall quality of life.  He has exceeded my expectations of what a personal trainer could do for me!

This is a brief note of thanks and appreciation.  I feel very lucky that I found you to work with me as my personal trainer.  As a 58 year old male, I am not looking to become an Olympic athlete but in some ways I liken my current life situation to a marathon runner.  As you know, our one son is severely mentally disabled but is increasingly very active physically.  The physical stress placed upon me to keep up with him is difficult for most people to comprehend.  You, thankfully, spent an incredible amount of time, literally interviewing me to find out not only my physical limitations and medical conditions, but also, the reasons such as my son for  seeking a trainer.  In the time we have worked together, I continue to be impressed with your ability to adapt exercises to my conditions.  I already feel the value of this training – not only the physical, but also the emphasis on proper nutrition.  I can honestly say that this is saving my life.  Both of my doctors are very happy that I am working with you.  Thank you again.  And please feel free to use me as a recommendation at any time.
