​Shalvah! Live Online Group - 30 minute weekly session

The Sunday Night Live Session: Shalvah! Is Stress Resilience and Restoration supporting the Jewish Community and friends. It’s a place to come to share our joy, discuss and practice evidence-based protocols and healing traditions as well as coordinate activities. Sharing our joys and challenges isn't just "social"—it lowers our cortisol and boosts oxytocin, the "bonding hormone" that buffers against stress.

Each session will have a health and wellness topic from the domains of breath, exercise and movement, nutrition and nutrition skills, stress management, change management and/or sleep quality. Resources are included to support you in your effort to build and improve your personal stress resilience routine.

Following the above segments, we will transition into the "Blue Zone Group" portion of the session where we will share a calming, restorative exercise. By practicing relaxation techniques in a group, we co-regulate our nervous systems, making it easier for everyone to find peace. This is a great way to get ready for the upcoming week! ​

The Blue Zone Group Live Online - 30 minute sessions

The Blue Zone Strategy: Inspired by the book the Stress Prescription, by Dr. Elissa Epel, PhD, we focus on “mind states” on Thursday evenings, learning and practicing ways to downshift the nervous system into a deeply restorative “blue mind” state at key times during the week.

By Thursday we are usually in need of some recovery from the week so we can enjoy the weekend with vitality. Also, many people suffer from "The Sunday Scaries", that creeping anxiety about the week ahead, so a shorter Blue Zone Group session is included as part of our Sunday night Shalvah! session as noted.

Instead of ruminating on the week's challenges or worrying about Monday morning, the Blue Zone transition will provide deep restoration for better stress resilience. Sessions include breathing exercises, guided relaxation, meditation and flow state education and execution. By practicing deep breathing and relaxation techniques together, we improve two critical (and measurable) markers:

HRV (Heart Rate Variability): A higher HRV means your nervous system is flexible and resilient.

Resting Heart Rate: Lowering this before bed ensures your heart doesn't have to work as hard while you sleep.

Get Better Sleep! The specific evening protocols downshift our nervous system and signal to your brain that it is safe to sleep.​
